Walter F. Ashe

This is truly an end of an era. I've known Walter since the 70's and he was my mother Jeanette's best friend. In my mind he still seems middle-aged. No one can light a candle to how special he was. He made everyone feel important and he loved communicating with his friends and family in many ways. I remember fondly a phone conversation I had (probably back in the late 90's before I visited him in NC). He couldn't hear especially well then, and I finally suggested that I email him instead....
