Walter was the best friend I ever had. We lay on the grass many nights stargazing. I had a telescope that we took up to the golf coarse in Blandford where we discovered Jupiter and Saturn. We had nicknames for each other. He was Isaac for one of his favorite authors, Isaac Asimov. And I was Carl, for Carl Sagan. I will never forget him. Our two photographs sit together on my bookshelf. Rest in peace, my good friend. I love you.
