Walter A. Bistline, 90, Topeka, passed away Saturday, Oct. 1, 2005, at Brewster Health Center. He was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Helen Miller Bistline. Survivors include a daughter, Donna Healy, Chanute; a granddaughter, Melissa Kimble, Topeka; two brothers, Verne, Topeka, and Andy, Colorado Springs, Colo.; and a sister-in-law, Willa Meacham, Topeka. A funeral service will be 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 6, at Seaman Congregational United Church of Christ. Mr. Bistline will lie in state from noon to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Davidson Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Interment with military honors conducted by the Navy will be in Rochester Cemetery in Topeka. Memorials may be made to Heart of America Hospice or Brewster Health Center.
