Not sure what to say?

Although I met Dr. Bloom only once, what an impression he made! He was such a kind gentleman and host. He made me feel like one of the family. I'm so glad I had the opportunity to meet such a wonderful and interesting man.

Walter Bloom was one of the most significant people in my life. As an employer, teacher and friend, his joy for life, his enthusiasm for ideas and work shaped my personal and professional life in way that has served me well through the years. When I think of all the people I know who have been touched by his generosity, it brings a grateful smile. I have such fond memories of the family I knew and send best wishes to all who survive him.

Few words can express the very positive impact "the Doc" had on my life as my very dear friend and "adoptive father". He was a free spirit who set out to make the world a better place for him being here. Thought it was so charming how he always introduced those he knew as the "top of their field" -- believing each of us were number 1 to him. He will be missed by all who knew him....because he was number 1 to us as well.

I have only known Doctor Bloom for less than three years. I consider it a privilege to have known him at all. For such a short time, I have so many lovely memories of him. What a precious man he was. He will be dearly missed.

I enjoyed very much my friendship with Walter during my years at Piedmont Hospital.

Few people have meant more to me than Walter Bloom. Our association began when I was an Intern at Grady Memorial Hospital. Our work together hit its apogee at Piedmont Hospital from 1957 until his move from Atlanta (and his position at Georgia Tech) to Edenton.
