I was sorry to hear of Walter's death from a friend in Dayton. I just learned of it yesterday. We were at Emerson and Stivers together. I especially remember him as a trombonist and an actor. He was a kind soul, and I always enjoyed talking with him. When we were young, I stopped in at the store often on a quest for some treasure. My husband and I visited Dayton a decade or more ago, and I took him to the store. We were amazed at his collection of Disney memorabilia. I also remember his sweet...

I am so sorry for your loss, just found out today thru the online DDN. Shirley, Amanda, Greg and Kevin; you are all in my thoughts.

Walter was a great neighbor, and family friend, he will be sorely missed by everyone who knew him. Our deepest Sympathy goes out to his wonderful family.

Shirley-I was sorry to hear about your loss. I know Walter was the love of your life. He Loved you so very much. My thoughts and prayers are with you ,the kids and grandkids.

Walter and I shared many memories of basketball at the Dayton Boys Club..shooting basketball in the back of the store..his Dad's 47 Lincoln continental..freshman basketball at Stivers..our years at Emerson grade school...more recently meeting his 2 sons and remembering the good old days..I will miss him very much..My condolences to all his family members..I will continue to stop in the store and visit with Greg...My wife and I are in Florida and I am sorry that we will be unable to attend...
