The picture of Walt is exactly how I picture him when I think of him, a smile, a funny story, and always respectful. I will always remember Walt and his love of animals and the animals knew he loved them, his salt lick in the backyard for the local deer. Walter Braunschweig was a retired member of
the SFPD and one of the seven original members
of the canine (dog) unit. His dog was Wotan and
the two of them captured a lot of "Bad Guys".
Whether or not it was construction or police
work, Walter did a great job.
