Not sure what to say?

I was lucky to have Rod as my boss and mentor just out of law school. He was a fabulous attorney and a wonderful person. He was admired, respected, and cherished. I am so sorry to hear of his passing.

I just learned of Rod's passing and am so sad. I worked for Rod many years ago and he will always be my favorite attorney.
❤❤

Met Rod thru a case and he represented me. He was an awesome attorney. I'll never forget his ethical, humorous and yes - wily - personality. My condolences to his family and friends.

Rod mon ami, who always accepted my craziness, who gave me life advice, who loved my France, who encouraged me to read Hemingway, who helped me understand my family, who was humorous, kind, and gregarious in life, I will miss you.

We just learned of Rod's passing recently. He was an amazingly intelligent man, and an equally skillful attorney. Our sincere condolences to the Burkley family. Kartik & Fabiana Ananth

Sorry for your loss.

Really nice seeing you last night Alex and Ms Phan. I was saddened by the news that Mr Burkley passed away. I am surely not surprised to see the lovely comments about him here, and this confirms what I experienced in my friendly interactions over the 4 years Alex was at PVHS, that he led a meaningful life and touched many people. Thank you for always making me feel like a member of your family and I mourn your loss with you. Sincerely, Jim Whalen

My wife, Sue, and I met Rod in the late 1970s when the issue of membership and the waiting list to join the Palos Verdes Tennis Club was In contention. Rod was a member at that time. He spoke to our group, defused the situation and somehow, taked us all into waiting anyway.
I'll never forget how Rod was sympathetic, understood the nuances of our wants and needs, and still held us off.
Over he next decades, Rod and I became friends, tennis partners, and neighbors in the community....
