Last year he helped me with research on one of his favorite subjects, Henri Focillon and Louis Grodecki at Yale. I will miss being able to turn to him.

Walter Cahn was my dissertation advisor in the late 1990s. He was always caring and earnest in working with his students, challenging us to think in new ways. He also had a great whimsical streak!
