Not sure what to say?

Reading all these testimonials reminded me of so many forgotten details of visiting his office. Perhaps the most memorable man I ever had the pleasure of knowing. All the animals, Dogs, cats horses, kittens, and the birds! I'd often be ushered into one of the examination rooms and sit thinking I was alone only to hear an odd noise and realize there was a rather large exotic bird sitting in the cage nearby! Amongst all the life proceeding in and out of the office and farm there would be the...

Dr. Carpenter was my doctor in the 1950´s. I was thinking of him this morning and Googled him on the chance of finding him, and I did! For me, he took away the anticipated fright of SHOTS. They were done before I knew a shot was eminent. Even more long lasting for me was that he acknowledged that even as a child, explaining that the anticipation was worse than the shot itself has saved me anxiety over my 77 years in so many situations both medical and otherwise. I have lived in foreign...

Dr Carpenter was one of a kind. When we arrived we could see him out back. He could make doctor's visits fun. Where else could you go to any doctor and have to step over his German shepherd to get into the office. He used to tell us to go outside and play with the Beagles, sheep and horses. I remember me being scared stiff of needles and him chasing me around the house. I was amazed at the time, he gave me that shot as he chased me, and I never even knew it!!! His visits were always...

Where does one begin when giving homage to this man? He was one of the biggest parts of my life! He gave everything to his patients and the best care possible. The memories...I could go on and on. No appointment necessary...he would see you not matter what. As a kid? It was the best place possible. Done with your checkup...Mom, can I go out and see the horses? Maybe it led to my lifelong love of horses. I remember him coming to my home as a little girl because my Mom was so sick she couldn't...

Just found out about this as I was thinking about Dr. Carpenter. He was my doctor when I was a child in fact he came to my house when I had a bad case of bronchitis. I am 74 years old now and I always look forward to seeing Dr. Carpenter because of his farm and his barn. We always went inside to look at the horses and the dogs. When I had my daughter I brought her in to see him because she was allergic to milk and he was very good at diagnosing allergies. I know when I was in second grade he...

I could go on and on but...one of a kind. Just wish they could all be like him! Think of him often.

I was a patient of Dr. Carpenter in the 50´s through the 70´s along with my brothers and sister. When I was trying to decide on where to go to college, he sat me down in his office and told me this story. He said my grandmother believed in psychics. She took me to one to find out where I should go to college. The psychic looked into her crystal ball and asked where should Walter go to college. The answer was she gave him was that Walter will be successful wherever he decides to go to...

I was a patient of dr carpenter he saved my life astma allergies. A god send

I've been off Island for many yrs., just noticed Carpenter Farm, glad to see it was saved. I too had/have allergies. Despite having Walter as my Dr., still scary (I was about 7), seeing the tray of what seemed like dozens of syringes, about to be injected into me, to find out what I was allergic to. He was like a uncle to me. I had no idea he earned the Congressional Medal of Honor in WW2. Without me asking, he offered to write up a medical report to keep me out of Vietnam. I didn't...
