Here is a man who is unforgettable. A true hero, an awesome conversationalist, history buff, loving family man. I had the honor to care for Mr Walt with home health several years ago and I absolutely adored the time I spent with him and his son Dick. Dick, I send to you my deepest condolences. Your relationship with your dad was a really precious thing to witness. I would always love seeing him in the parades and around town. He always spoke and made me feel like it had no time had passed...

It has been an honor to know Mr. Chelchowski and to call him a friend for many years. A true American and servant to many. Rest well my friend.

He will forever have a special place in my heart! It was a joy and pleasure taking care of him these past years at the Aiken VA Clinic. He brought a smile to the faces of all who knew and loved him. My sincere condolences Richard. Joanne (Nurse at Aiken CBOC)
