Walter Joseph Cherasaro, 71, of Hazleton passed away on November 8, 2020 after a courageous battle with COVID-19. Retiring after 22 years with Quad Graphics, Wally was an active member and part-time employee of Christ Lutheran Church, Hazleton. He was an avid member and Honor Guard Captain with many local Drum and Bugle Corps with a lifelong passion for music. He had a reputation for sharing his passion for Drum Corps inspiring local teens to join. He was always ready to help a friend or to insert a Three Stooges impersonation, but only after you watched a few Drum Corps videos on his cellphone. Wally is survived by his wife of 33 years, Barbara (Rinehimer); son, Michael and his wife, Heather, of Lancaster; stepdaughter, Staci Delese and her husband, Jeff, of Flemington, NJ; stepson, T.J. Kurczewski and his partner, Kate Childs, of Lehigh Township; brother, Herby; sisters, Ruthann Smith, Betty Seburn, Charlotte DiLiberto, Jeanne Kistulentz and grandchildren: Michael,Jr., Mary, Gabriel, Benjamin, Elizabeth, Rebecca, and Alex. Wally was preceded in death by his father and mother, Anthony and Eleanor; son, Marc ; brother, Gus; and sister, Margaret Rendako. Due to public health concerns, a private interment will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Reading Buccaneers Drum and Bugle Corps P.O. Box 13032. Reading, PA 19612 The family was assisted by the Butler Chapel of the Krapf and Hughes Funeral Home, 530 West Butler Dr. Drums, PA.

Wally, you did so much for my kids, got them in the bugle corps, drove them miles, week after week, even got them sponsors. I know I as well as my kids appreciated all you did. God bless you Wally, see you on the other side.

Wally you will be missed by many. You were an inspiration to may peoples life. My condolences to your family and God bless. May we all cherish the beautiful memories you left behind.
