Walter's and my common ancestor was Peter Joseph Greif, who was born in St. Wendel, Saarland, Germany in 1809.
He came to this country around 1854 and died in Michigan in 1876.
He had five children. Walter descended from Peter Joseph's oldest child, Helen Greif who married August Renz and they lived for many, many yrs in Levenworth KS.
She was Water's great-grandmother. I descend from Peter Joseph Greif's third child, (Franz Joseph Greif) who settled in Uniontown WA in 1876.

He will be missed. Love him

May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow.

Walter you was the best reporter when I was growing up as a little girl. I've enjoyed watching you on 60 minutes.
