I NEVER GOT TO SPEND MUCH TIME WITH MY UNCLE WALT DUE TO LIVING SOME DISTANCE APART; HE IN OHIO AND I IN NEW YORK AND THEN ARIZONA, BUT HE WAS ALWAYS IN MY THOUGHTS. I REMEMBER THAT WHEN MY FATHER WOULD HAVE HIS VACATION WE WOULD LOOK FORWARD TO VISITING OUR RELATIVES WHICH ALWAYS INCLUDED A TRIP TO N. Uncle Walt was a loving man and
helper to his sister Meryl's (my
Ma) family who had hard times in the late forties and early fifties. I recall going to the railroad station to see him off to war--I was five. I remember him coming back from war on a summer evening when we lived
across from Euclid Beach. With his
guitar and voice he entertained.
To this day (I am now 69) I am able to strum a guitar and sing one of the first songs he sang the day after he came home,...

You were the best grandfather and great grandfather in the world, we cherished you and you will be deeply missed.

My sympathies for your loss. From what I have read, Walter lived a remarkable life.

Wally was my dad's best golfing buddy. He was always kind and cheerful. Wally will be misssed.
