Dear Dodel Family,

Dave & I remember what fun we had living across the street from the Dodels in the mid 50's & 60's. We were sorry to hear of the passing of Walt. We remember him as a great husband, father and neighbor. Always a cheerful and upbeat guy. I can still hear him whistling and mowing his lawn.

Your father sounds like a wonderful man dedicated to service, family, and friends whose life was leached away by Alzheimer's, a cruel process I experience firsthand in my mother's decline. Walt was my good friend and classmate at Lewiston High School (LHS 1939). Cleo and I were also good friends at LHS. We had classes together. I admired them both. What wonderful people.
