Not sure what to say?

Dear Dodel Family,

Dave & I remember what fun we had living across the street from the Dodels in the mid 50's & 60's. We were sorry to hear of the passing of Walt. We remember him as a great husband, father and neighbor. Always a cheerful and upbeat guy. I can still hear him whistling and mowing his lawn.

It was always fun being around the Dodel house and I remember what a famiy man he was. We thought of you over the Holidays. We are Craig's neighbor in...

Dear Cleo, Susan, and Craig:
Don and I remember how Mom and Dad enjoyed sharing stories of wonderful times growing up in Lewiston and times spent with Walt and Cleo over the years. We are thinking of all of you at this time. With love and sincere sympathy,

Walt, get us a good starting time.
Thanks for the great memories.

Your father sounds like a wonderful man dedicated to service, family, and friends whose life was leached away by Alzheimer's, a cruel process I experience firsthand in my mother's decline. Craig, you probably don't remember me, Gail Eshom, from elementary school in Wedgwood, but I remember you and sympathize with you now in this sad time for your mother, you, and everyone else in your family. I hope the grandchildren and great-grandchildren all have special memories of their grandfather. I...

Dear Craig and Family, So sorry for the loss of your Dad. I remember him when I was a young man caddying at Sand Point. He was a great role model for the younger generation. Remember all the great times you and your Dad shared. Fondly, Ron Hoetmer

Walt's Name Tag at our 50th Class Reunion

Walt was my good friend and classmate at Lewiston High School (LHS 1939). Cleo and I were also good friends at LHS. We had classes together. I admired them both. What wonderful people.

Cleo and family, please know that we are all thinking of you and share your grief. Walt was one of a kind. He will be missed. Please accept our condolences.

I worked for Walter's brother Dick for many years. Walt and I always had wonderful conversations. He always made me laugh.
God bless your family at this time.

Claudia and Craig,
My thoughts and prayers are with you. Walter sounds like he made an incredible impact on this world. He sounds to be a stellar example of a wonderful vivacious man. I wish that I had had the opportunity to meet him. Please know that if you need a shoulder for support...we/I am here for you. My love to you both.

To the Dodel Family,
I am so sorry for your loss. What a wonderful family Walter had around him throughout his Alzheimer's journey. The Dodel Family is an inspiration to me. Your strong support for Memory Walk was amazing and much appreciated. I hope you find peace knowing that you took care of Walter in a most compassionate way.
