Dull

Yadkinville- Mr. Walter E. ?Gene? Dull, 69, passed away peacefully Monday, October 26, 2015 at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. He was born August 15, 1946 in Rowan County to the late George and Ruth Potts Dull. Mr. Dull was a graduate of Davie High School Class of 1964 and served with the N.C. National Guard. He was retired with over 35 years of service from R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company. Mr. Dull was a faithful member of Trinity Friends Church in Lewisville where he served the church in several positions of leadership. He enjoyed being a member of the Yadkin Cruisers and was faithful as long as his health permitted. Mr. Dull was a talented woodworker and enjoyed the time he spent camping and traveling with his R.V. throughout the country with his beloved wife. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his father and mother-in-law, Charlie F. and Bertha T. Poindexter. Surviving are his loving wife of 46 years, Ann Dull, of the home; his sister and brother-in-law, Patsy and Larry Lanier of Advance; his nephews and their families, Chad Lanier and wife, Stacey and their daughters, Reese and Avery of Huntersville, NC; Greg Lanier and wife, Kate and their daughters, Caroline, Amelia, and Sydney of Cambridge, UK; sister-in-law, Wanda Hall and her husband, Thomas of East Bend, and their daughters, Karen and Jenny; and several cousins and friends. The family will receive friends from 1:30-3:00 PM Friday, October 30, 2015 at Trinity Friends Church, 819 Williams Road, Lewisville, NC. His funeral service will follow the visitation in the church at 3:00 PM Friday with Rev. Hobert Freeman and Dr. Robin Dixon officiating. Burial will follow in the Union Cross Friends Church Cemetery. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Trinity Friends Church, 819 Williams Road, Lewisville, NC. Online condolences may be made to www.gentryfuneralservice.com. Ann my heart and love goes out to you. You two were meant to be life partners in love. You and Gene made it look so easy, I know it's not, but, you and Gene was as one. I Love You. Sincerely Pam Frye

Ann, Patsy, and family members: we pay tribute to Gene because of who he was and what he stood for. He served his Lord and cared for his family and friends. I have spoken to him over the years. Ann and him visited us in Florida. I remember Gene loving his horse as a young man.
He greatly resembled my late Dad, Elmer Potts, and I enjoyed that about hm. He has had a tough time with extended illness. It was In God's plan to call him home. He is not suffering now. He probably has a...
