Dr Ehrlich was my very favorite teacher. I can still remember his Battle of Trafalgar lecture, and he was always the standard I tried to live up to when I taught American History at a Community College. He also read my Master's thesis years after I had been his student at Ladue HS. I know I wasn't his best student, but he was my best teacher.

Dear family of Walter Ehrlich:
I was a student of Dr. Ehrlich's at U. City High School in 1950-51. He was not only an inspiring teacher of Economics but as a mentor, he changed my life for the better by challenging me to leave high school after my junior year and move straight into the undergraduate program at the University of Chicago. I send his family my deepest sympathy.

TO THE EHRLICH FAMILY:

The staff and members of the MISSOURI HISTORICAL SOCIETY send our sympathies on the passing of distinguished historian DR. WALTER EHRLICH. His landmark work on the history of the local Jewish community ("Zion of the Valley")
will be long remembered, as will his accomplished scholarship and life. May his memory be eternal!

My condolences to the Ehrlich family. I was a student of Dr. Ehrlich's in the early '60's at Ladue High. I was in his class when we received the announcement of JFK's death. He provided a sense of calm and support in a very difficult time. He will be missed by many who knew him from that era.

Kathy and I would like to express our sincere condolences to the Ehrlich family. We are members of Central Reform Congregation, and it was people like Dr. Ehrlich who brought us under the protective "human quilt" that was and is CRC. His presentations to the Bar/Bat Mitzvahs were always memorable. His Zion In the Valley books helped us find our way in our continuing Jewish journey. Even though we never really knew Dr. Ehrlich, he made a profound impact on our lives. He will be missed

Sylvia, I have been in touch with Walter in the last four years. He told me about the Harry MellmanStudy Group. Harry was my brother.

Please accept my sincerest condolences.
