Dr. Walter R. Funk

Our sincere condolences to the family of Walter (Bud) Funk. I'm so sorry that I was not able to be at Bud's memorial service to see all of you and express my sympathy in person. The few times I visited your family, he was always warm and welcoming. To this day, I remember the efforts your father and older brothers went to to make a "Clapper" for the community bell so that Olmsted Falls could partake in the 1976 celebration of America’s bicentennial. Our deepest sympathy in the loss of your father/grandfather. We knew Dr. Funk for a long time, due to our father, Richard Schlegel. He was a very kind man and he will be missed.

As a skilled and compassionate surgeon, loyal friend and fine family man he has left a legacy of service and love to all of us.
We first met in college, both fresh out of the Navy and that friendship has endured and strengthened over the past 62 years
The many good times our families shared are precious memories. I am grateful to have shared his life and am proud to call him friend.
