So sorry to hear of Walters passing. I knew him when he worked with AmeriCorps VISTA in New Haven. He was a good man.

So sorry to hear of Walters passing. I knew him when he worked with AmeriCorps VISTA in New Haven. He was a good man.

I was a friend of Walter when we were teenagers on Hungry Hill. He was always a sweet caring person. I remember when he went into the priesthood. I then moved away. When I read his obituary it only reinforced my opinion of the kind of person he was as a teen. When the rest of us were typical teens he had an aura about him that is hard to describe. The world was a better place with him in it.?

Dear Mrs. Gaffney,

I am so very sorry for your loss, sending prayers for peace and comfort that surpasses understanding for you and your entire family. I had the honor of working with Walter at DSS, he exemplified honor and integrity. He will be missed.

Sincerely,
Vanessa Gervais

My sincere condolences to the entire Gaffney family.

I was able to witness Walter interact with so many people including children while he served as Chief of Staff for the Commissioner at the Department of Social Services. He was always kind and a great story teller, as well as a true gentleman.
Rest in peace Walter and I hope to see you again someday.
God bless the entire Gaffney family.

Happy Easter, Walter Gaffney! Killingworth and the rest of the world will miss you. You were so kind and sweet and always had a cute story when you came in the library!

I know that Walter would admonish me for the comparison but I believe he was the most CHRIST like man I ever met! Go in peace Walter you master awaits you.
