Walter J. Gengarelly

Walter is a huge loss to the Gengarelly family, and will be very missed. He kept all of us informed about each other. My late mother, Aunt Margie to Walter, just loved it when he called her and kept her up to date on everyone in the family. My husband and children were very fond of him. I will never
forget all great Gengarelly family parties we had at his parents home in New Jersey. Our deepest sympathies to his sons and sisters. He was a great cousin to me.

Our part of the Gengarelly family always knew him as "Jupe" (no idea why). He was part of the "glue", keeping the rest of us up to date on family news. Just the name Jupe makes me smile and shake my head, as life was never dull when he was around. Huge heart, great sense of humor, and real integrity. My heart goes out to his sons and sisters.

Walter was the older brother I needed during my formative years. He was always there for me whenever needed with sage advice, a twinkle in his eyes, and a sense of humor few could ever reach. We shared many exploits over the years and they're as fresh in my memory as the day they happened. I was so lucky to have shared this life with "Mr. G!"

I was just thinking about Walter last week. He would e-mail when the Chicago Bears football team did something well. I was waiting to hear from him when I heard the sad news. My love goes out to his family.

Walter left an incredible mark on all of us who ever knew him. The twinkle in those eyes was unforgettable. And i know the greatest joy of his life was his sons, who will carry him forward in their lives. Patricia Donegan
