We were in Savannah this year and i was specifically looking for him as i always do on River Street. I was deeply saddened to learn about his passing. Thank you for over 25 years of entertainment you provided me. You are missed.

I just learned that Walt passed. Hearing that tore deep within me. I had so much love for this man! I met him in September of 2010. Captivated by his song, i asked to sing with him, and to my surprise, he said yes, and we held "At Last" for 6 years. He was the highlight of my trips to Savannah once i moved and then once i moved back, the joy of my nights! Met all the important people in my life and told visitors that i was his daughter. Gosh, this hurts, but Walt, I love you. Will forever...

Our heartfelt sympathy to Mr Walter's family and to those who knew him best. My husband and I met Mr. Walter at the riverfront during our honeymoon in Jan 2011, and his James Ingram howl stopped us in our tracks and we were drawn to his majestic voice. He was so kind and he serenaded us with his beautiful rendition of "what a wonderful world" I bought his CD and a few years later, we came back to visit for our anniversary, and saw Mr. Walter again.
