Walter R. Harvey Jr., 78, owner and operator, with his wife, of Harvey's BBQ from 1955 until his retirement in 1980, passed away on Thursday, August 9, 2001. The family will receive friends on Sunday, August 12, 2001, 4-6 p.m., at Brown's Memorial Funeral Home, Inc., 707 North MacArthur Boulevard, Irving. Funeral services are scheduled for Monday, August 13, 10 a.m., at the funeral home, officiated by Chaplain Byron Stark. Interment will follow at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens. Arrangements entrusted to Brown's Memorial Funeral Home, Inc., Irving, Texas.
I will miss Harvey. He was a piece of my past. He started his business the year I was born and my dad and I use to visit his place on a regular basis.It seems like Irving is missing a piece now.
