Senior Chief 'Daddy' Job. A gentleman in all aspects. A worthy role model. An excellent Ship Mate. Keep the brow open for the rest of us. Phil Brunson

I had the pleasure of sailing with Walter when working for Military Sealift Command. He was as honest and respected as they come. He will be missed - My condolences to his family. May Walter rest in eternal peace!

"Sand Lance" Crew Recognition Award 2008 Reunion

From a once lonely sailor in a place called Portsmouth, N.H.to a truely "Gentle Man". You go before us so that you may sign our "Qual Cards" as we earn our "Eternal Dolphins". God bless you and thank you for your leadership and kindness in life! "Sailor, Rest Your Oar!"

Daddy Job. The Commissioning Crew of the USS SAND LANCE (SSN 660) will miss you. Look up Ronnie Bush, Hayden Gay and Gerry Pollard. We need someone to open the Gates as we arrive. Phil Brunson, Commissioning Yeoman.

Tony and I will miss his friendship and his model to all of us of a truly honorable man. Rest peacefully, Walter...you've earned it.
