Not sure what to say?

Those brief moments when Mr. Keys responded to inquiries about the accomplishments of his son, a former student, were special and will be long remembered. He has been a special role model.

As a 1988 graduate of Dan River High School, I had the honor and privilege of having Mr. Keyes as a principal. Mr. Keyes was one of the most refined and intelligent people I have been blessed to know. He was a consummate professional and stressed the importance of education and character in his students. Rest well, Mr. Keyes--your life's work will live on in the young lives that you touched!

Mr. Keyes will always be remembered. He was a fine man and always acknowleged his former students. Rest In Peace.

I will never forget you Mr. Keys. You were inspiration to me when you became the principal of Dan River High School. It was great having you as an African American role model in the Pittsyvlania County Public School System. At my 20 year high school reunion, we spoke about you and how you were one of the few who encouraged us to go to college, not to just get a job or go to a trade school, but to get a 4 year college degree. I will never forget this. I made a point of telling you last...

I was a student at CHS from 1980-1984, and Mr. Keyes was always there to welcome me with a smile, a kind word and and to answer any question or to address any problem that I may have had, which thankfully were very few.
He was a true gentleman & always made my day. I really respected & admired him.
I never heard a cross word from him. He will truly be missed.
My deepest sympathies & most heartfelt condolences to the family on the loss of your loved one.

I was a student at Chatham High School under him. He was a nice man I like him a lot will miss him dearly.

Aunt Marian & Shawn, know that our thoughts & prayers are with you. Peace & Blessings, Always~
Love your neice Shay & husband Nico*

As a former student, I always held Mr. Keyes in high regard. He set a standard that all should strive for.
