Walter E. Knowles, Jr.

WALTER E. KNOWLES, JR., age 79 of Nokesville, Virginia passed away Wednesday, April 25, 2012 at his residence. Walter was born March 13, 1933 in Washington, D.C. son of the late Walter E. Knowles, Sr. and Ella L. (Steinbock) Knowles. He was a US Army veteran, a member of the Masonic Lodge in Pennsylvania and had retired as a building manager for AT&T. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Lisa Ann Knowles in 2001. Survivors include his loving wife of 59 years, Betty J. Knowles; one son, Mark W. Knowles and wife Yvonne of Sterling, Virginia; two granddaughters, Emily and Valerie Knowles and two sisters, Jane Knowles and Linda Osborne. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 7:00-9:00 PM Saturday, April 28, 2012 at Pierce Funeral Home, 9609 Center Street, Manassas where funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Sunday, April 29, 2012. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Capital Caring (Hospice), 2900 Telestar Court, Falls Church, Virginia 22042 in loving memory of Walter Knowles, Jr.
