Walter Lehmann

I am so sorry to learn of Walter's passing. In my book, he was a maestro without peers. I studied the clarinet under Walter from around 1950 to 52 in Bennington, Vermont. He was a demanding teacher, yet an understanding one. He didn't push; he pulled students into the learning process. He was a friend, yet you knew he was THE teacher.

I'm very saddened to hear about the loss of Walter. I worked at SweetBrook for a short-time during Nov 2002-Jan. 2003 due to my husband being in the military. During that time, I did some care for Walter during the 3-9pm shift. He and I had many great conversations, and he said he really had a lot of respect for me, and I took his feelings into consideration all the time. I had the pleasure to work with Walt at the Cheshire Elem. School for many years. He was the consumate musician and an excellent instructor. Enjoyed dancing and listening to his sweet sounds. " Here's a Martini to you Walt" Condolences to his family.
