To Jeff, Judith and family,

Our deepest sympathy. We all will miss his warmth, grace, compassion and inquiring mind. He fulfilled his duty to county and family in stellar fashion, with deliberation and resourcefulness.

Hiking with Walter was always interesting. His knowledge of the locale—seemingly on a block-by-block basis, embellished his hikes, and he always had an anecdote or fact to impart, be it about the old Gospel Press building, Cleveland’s famed historic auto...

i want to thank Walter + the Cleveland hiking club for the opportunity to be reconnected with Cleveland, retirng back home and to brush up on history + geography of my hometown.

Dear Judith, Jeff and family,
Some people make a wonderful impression and Walter surely was one of them. I am glad to have had the opportunity to hike with him and chat with him. He was certainly a ray of sunshine. My deepest condolences. ~

I am truely saddened by his passing. I enjoyed his stories about the John Adams area were his wife went to school. He made me feel welcome on his trimont walks. He knew much history about that area as well. My condolences to his family. I will miss him dearly. Jennifer Aikens
