Not sure what to say?

Dear Andrea, Cara, and Peter, Maureen and I are not able to attend the memorial service for your father primarily due to age and the variety of David´s minor maladies. But we want you to know that we, especially David, enjoyed having Walter as a first cousin. As David wrote to Cara, some weeks ago, Walter was an athletic and energetic individual. As a child staying in Ann Arbor and later in Grand Rapids Walter put me on the handlebars of his bike and rode around town on errands with...

Walt and I were Endodontic Colleagues. There were only three of us in Portland back in 1970. Years later we closed out our careers practicing together At Willamette Dental.
Walt was the definition of a gentleman. Quiet and caring. I always admired him for the unceasing care he provided for Barbara through the years.
We sharing a vacation house in Black Butte together as the original ‘Gang of Seven’. Great memories

Had to add this photo.. Seems like yesterday.

Thanks for sharing! He was one kind of a human indeed, left many seeds on Earth. We feel for you. He will forever live in your hearts.

I am so sad that I will never get a chance to talk (In German!), laugh and row with you again, Walter. Your departure has created a big hole in our crew. You will be forever missed.

Dear Peter, I´m so sorry for the loss of your father. He sounded like a wonderful and remarkable man. Sending you and your family my love. With sympathy, Laurie Munro Bird

Thinking back, being grateful to know and row / scull with Walter spans 25-30 years. He was always a positive person and a great credit to any boat. Stable, a credit to everyone in the boat. Always added to the joy of being part a crew, making everyone appreciate their and his contribution to a mutual good row. His presence continues to be missed by all that were lucky to have rowed with Walter.

Walter was one of the sweetest men in our lives. The time we spent with him at Station L Rowing Club leaves us with many fond memories. It was a pleasure to row with him. He was a fine sculler. We send our sympathy for your loss and hope that your memories of his smile, laughter and generosity will give you comfort. Fondly, Kathy and Scott Frederick
