Dear Mrs Loy and Family, My name is Judith A McDonald MD, and I am certain that I would not have that MD behind my name if it weren't for your husband. Physics was so hard for me, but your husband's teaching abilities helped me to understand. It was his recitation classes that got me through.

As my teacher of physics at Muhlenberg, Professor Loy was patient, kind and insightful. He was also a good friend. His enthusiasm for teaching was always on display. He thoroughly enjoyed exposing young minds to the wonders of physics. My sincere condolences to Janet and the family.

Dr. Loy was my professor at Muhlenberg and more than that my friend and mentor. His father was my German teacher at Palmyra. The world has lost a kind and loving soul but Heaven has gained one. My deepest sympathy to Janet and the family.
