Walt,we were together at Camp Tophat in 1945/46. Sixty years later we were still friends. You and Bob Boyd were my best buddies in those days and it has been a pleasure to maintain that friendship for so many years.
I am very sad that you have left but we had good memories for a long time. Go in peace, dear friend. You will meet Bob again. The two of you can set up camp and await my arrival.

It was a true privelege and honor to have known your father and to be able to say he was our friend. We will forever remember his clever wit and gracious mannerisms. We are very sorry for your loss and will remember you in our prayers. Heaven is a little bit better now that Walter is there.

With deep sorrow we say farwell to a very close friend and war-time fellow Tophatter.
But you are now healed and in Heaven! Pray for us!
We will miss you at Tophat Reunions; and always remember the past gatherings with some of your and our children at Saint Meinrad Archabbey.
May you Rest in Peace...Perpetual Light is shining on you!
"Thanks for the Memories"!
Lee and me and our family,
