MANCHESTER -- Walter Pascal Martel, 86, died March 9, 2010, at Elliot Hospital following a brief illness.

He was born in St. Francois du Lac, P.Q., Canada, April 19, 1923, to Moise and Helene (Nadeau) Martel and had been a resident of this city for many years.

My condolances to Walter's family. He was a fellow member of MCC,Manchester Camera Club. I was priveleged to know him the first few years of my membership in that group. He set the bar for many of us in photos. Faith Clark, Concord ,NH

Uncle Walter always held a special place in everyone's heart... he was the one that always captured all the memories for us through his pictures and we will always remember him for the wonderful person that he was! He has touched our lives in a way that will stay with us all forever. I am so sorry for your loss, please know that you are in our hearts and prayers.

Sorry for your loss. Uncle Walter always had a place in my heart and I enjoy the memories I have of him as a child. He was such a great uncle, a great photographer (he took my wedding photos) and I enjoyed his humor and wit. He was always such a teaser with his nieces and nephews. I especially enjoyed our last visit with him giving me an opportunity to speak French with him and my mom (Summer of 2008). ...

Mrs Martel, please know that I am truly sorry about the passing your husband. Though I may not have spoken to him many times, I felt as if I knew him very well. Jules talked about both of you often and it's more than obvious that he loved you very very much. Walter will be missed by many. My prayers are with you and Jules during this time.
