Not sure what to say?

Deepest sympathies to the Matlock's from the whole Hempen family. This is written by Ron and I will always remember him as Mr. Matlock. We lived two doors down on Maryland Avenue and he was a fixture in the neighborhood. He seemed to be constantly in the front yard, often watering the lawn. He was never without a smile or word of encouragement. He will always remain in my memory.

Ron Hempen and family

To all the Matlocks,

I have many fond memories of Walt. From soccer games, to BBQ’s…and I never met better camp hosts than Walt and Jean. What a great family he’s left behind, and what an example to follow. I hope you can all lean on each-other in this sad time. All of the Hannon’s are thinking of you.

Dear Steve and family, am so sorry to here about Grandpa as I always used to call him. He was truly a nice man and so much fun to talk to,but I think that runs in the family. If I can do anything please let me know. I love you guys. Dale Horine

Dear Steve and family,
We are saddened to hear of the passing of your dad. I remember that he had moved to Prescott. We pray that the Holy Ghost will comfort you and your family and assure you of the gift of Eternal Life that is just as sure as this earth life. You were a good friend when we used to see each other often at Marlers. Hope you are doing well.
Love, Harold and Susan Bring

Dear Jean, Marilyn and family, I was deeply saddened to hear of Walt's passing. He was truly larger than life. I know he was a gentle giant, but he sure scared me when I would come over to visit the cutest girl who ever went to Sutton School. My father, Walt, passed away in 2004 and my mom, Jeanne, followed in 2008. I believe with all my heart that our family members will be waiting on the other side when it's our turn to go home. I think of you often and pray that God will comfort you in...

My condelence to the Matlock family. This is my memory of Mr. Matlock. I remember meeting him during Pop warner football. What a big man, he reminded me so much of John Wayne. He was a TRUE inspiration during those years.God bless " Big Walt" rest in peace, Daniel Alonzo.

Please accept my sympathy for your loss. "Big Walt" was a great husband, father and grandfather. I was pleased to meet and know him and his family in the '70s. Carolyn Dryer (formerly from Punkin Center)
