Not sure what to say?

Edy and family: Many share in your sorrow but also in numerous fond memories. I remember how Dr. Mazen was always ready for an upbeat conversation at Bidwell Church coffee hour! Thank you, Edy, for sharing your thoughts so nicely at his service yesterday. The Lord bless you and keep you.

To me, nothing illustrates Dr. Mazen's caring nature more than the call I received when my mom died in 2003. He hadn't been her doctor for
several years, yet it was he who called, not her current doctor.
Moreover, he didn't just call to share his condolences, he went on to
say he was concerned about her appearance the last time he saw her and he wanted to know how she died. As the obituary said, he was always the diagnostician. I also credit Dr. Mazen with the not-so-small gift of 34...

I was very saddened to hear of Dr Mazen's passing. He was a great gift to the medical community and to the city of Chico. He was my family doctor from 1950 until I left Chico for the military in 1969. After reading that he moved to Chico in 1950 as my family did, we must have been some of his earliest patients. He removed my tonsils in 1951 and I remember him coming to the house to check on me several times. He even prescribed ice cream to help sooth the throat pain. At that age, anyone who...

Edy and family, I know you feel a huge sense of loss and sadness, but remember how many lives your father enriched by sharing himself. It's hard, but rather than mourn his passing, celebrate his life, and always remember how his smile could light up a room! Rest in peace, Dr. Mazen.

I was so saddened to hear about the death of your father. Dr. Mazen tended to our health needs as most excellent Doctors do. However, he went several steps further - he nurtured our souls and mended our broken spirits. His accomplishments as a doctor were only exceded by his gift of friendship. He was there for my parents, Mary Ann and Larry Grage, when my brother was killed in an automobile accident. His heart broke as much as ours did, when my father died. He was a doctor, he was a...

Doc Mazen brought me into this world. He set my broken bones and healed my sore throats. I know he is with the Lord now... Probably taking care of Him too!

We miss Walt already. We couldn't have had a better physician, neighbor, friend and partner over many years we lived in Chico.

I was so sadden to hear of Dr Mazen's passing. What a gift to Chico he was. I enjoyed having him as my doctor for many many years. My thoughts are with all of you at this time.

Dr. Mazen was our family doctor for many many years and he always had a great smile and the best personality for a doctor! It was never a scary experience to visit him. I saw him fairly recently at a funeral and he was still his cheerful self! What a lucky family you are to have been blessed with such a wonderful man!
Oh, and the obituary was great, just like he was!
