75, passed away on July 26, 2018 in Sugar Land, Texas, where he resided for 39 years. Walter was born on October 30, 1942 in Houston, Texas to Robert and Sara Melton. Walter worked for Melton Steel Corporation for 40 yrs. and after retirement opened a new company Amtex Precision Fabrication Inc. He enjoyed golf and was a hole in one golfer. Walter is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Constance Melton; sons, Jacob Melton and wife Cynthia and Tobin Melton; grandson, Frederick Melton; sister, Candy Biederer, and a host of other family and friends. A graveside service for Walter will be on Sunday, July 29, 2018 at 3:00 pm in Adath Israel Cemetery 4714 Airline Dr., Houston, Texas at 3:00 PM. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the charity of your choice.

Walter's son was a friend of mine, so I spent time around him often. I was a rotten kid, but his patience and humor were always on his face. I don't think I ever saw him cross or angry. One thing is certain, he plays an undeniable role in what good there is in me, today.

Walter stands out as an incredibly good natured and good man. It had been too long since I'd been with him, but memories from our teen years are flooding back. He was so patient and saw humor in life. Bless him and his family.

Went to San Jac with Walter. College, Viet Nam and life pulled me away from Houston. Would have enjoyed later in life kibitzing with him. Walter was a good guy.

Walter was a hell of a brother, he will be missed. The best story no-one seemed to know was during a steel convention eons ago in New Orleans with our Dad; Walter went to an open-mike night, and he was so incredibly good, they invited him back to be their in-house commeadian- he could have had a fantastic whole other career. He was always that good. That's the picture of Walter I will always have: a drink in one hand, a cigarette in the other, and making people laugh...that's what he loved to do...Here's one to you Walt!
