Walter Missel Sr.

I miss you more today than I did when we lost your presence. Both Walter D. Missel Sr and Walter D. Missel Jr.! I honor you both daily.

Lisa and family,
You will be in my thought and prayers. Prayers go a very long way and I know that from experience! Take it one day at a time and remember ALL of the good time! Those can never be taken away from you! God bless each of you!

Eulogy delivered April 18th 2007...

In Proverbs we read, “A good name is rather to be chosen than

great riches” (Proverbs 22:1), and in Ecclesiastes it says,

“A good name is better than precious ointment” (Ecclesiastes

7:1).
I speak for my father and my son also in saying that .... a

very good name has been left for us to carry .....with great

pride.

Not only have we been given a good name, weve been shown

how a man can be...

To My Missel Family,
Having always felt like part of The Missel Family I cannot express the sadness felt when Mother called me with the news. It is times like these that we reflect on our past, the fond memories that we have enjoyed together and comforted by knowing that one day we will all be together again in the House of our Lord.

This is one of those times in my life when I need to hear one of your funny recollections of your past to cheer me up. Those always seemed to get me in a good mood no matter what I felt like. Im going to miss staying up late at The River eating chili with saltines and frozen pizza, Flying around the yard at 12 miles per hour on the "Evan/Ryan Express" golf cart, and just sitting out on the river itself taking in the experience of a true Charleston fisherman. Walter Missel, Sr. was my grandfather, my friend, my mentor, and my hero. His encouragement and affection were monumental in my personal development, and the one goal that remained constant in all of my challenges was to make him proud. My fondest childhood memories were of us eating frozen pizzas long after midnight while watching westerns, wading across the river at low tide to play on the mud flats, waiting patiently for the first nibble of a fish in a promising fishing spot, and...
