Not sure what to say?

Thinking about you Walt. Glad to have some of your life story online for my own memories of my youth.

I worked for Capt Nachtwey in Hawaii in 1958-60. My fondest memories of my 20 years service was running for him as a three striper, the selection of the Unknown Soldier for WWII. I have missed him since then and will all my life. My condolences to the family.

William R. Saville SMSGT (Senior Master Sergeant) retired USAF.

My condolences to you Glady's on your loved ones passing. I'm glad I got to meet the two of you at Christmas this year when my daughter Aubrey (your little buddie) performed their x-mas program for you. She really enjoys visiting Lakeview and is very glad to be your buddie. I know that she will miss Walter very much, as she was very sad to hear of his death, I haven't seen her cry so hard since her cousin died. You will be in our thoughts and prayers always. I look forward to seeing you again...

Tim and family,
My heart felt sympathy goes out to you and your entire family. The loss of a father is truly a tragic moment in our lives, but his memory will always be with you. I know from our talks at Guard that you were very proud of him and his service to our country. I also know you are following in his footsteps as a wonderful father and soldier. God bless you and your family.
Your friend,
Jack

Most definately an honorable man! I have fond memories as a young child visiting Wisc. with my grandparents, Olive and Richard. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Gladys and the family.

God looked around his Garden and found an empty place.
He then looked down upon his earth and saw your loving face.
He put his arms around you and lifted you to rest.
His Garden must be beautiful, he always takes the best.
He knew that you were suffering, he knew you were in pain.
And knew that you would never get well on earth again.
He saw your path was difficult, he closed you tired eyes,
He whispered to you "Peace be Thine" and gave you wings to...

Tim & Family

So sorry to hear of the loss of your father. Time will heal the pain and memories will comfort those who knew him. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Tim,
Very sorry for your loss. I remember the pride and love for your Dad you showed when you told me a few stories about your Dad as we returned home from Nat'l Guard band jobs. I know you will miss him and his reassuring presence. One of the poems on this site recommmends continuing to talk to your Dad. It is good advice and it helps when you miss him the most. Thank you for letting me know and for this thoughtful site.
