Not sure what to say?

I worked for Walt in the Senate through the Majority Communications Office. He treated the staff like gold and we all loved him for it. He was a real pleasure to be around...all the time. Just a wonderful man and I am so very sorry for your loss.

Senator North was one of the last true statesmen in Lansing. As a cub political reporter in 2001, I was grateful when he took me under his wing and helped me navigate the austere Senate chamber. His kindness was remarkable and his love for his family and Upper Michigan was evident daily. I've thought of him often over the years since he left Lansing and wished there were more legislators like him. Godspeed, Senator.

Was sorry to hear of Walts death, please know our prayers are with you-Sally,your sons and their families.

Dear Sally, Diane and I share your sadness as we learned of Walt's passing. We both treasure the memories of you and Walt which go back as far as grade school in Battle Creek. Diane and I often recall our conversations at our last BCHS Reunion where we all covered so many memories of our treasured friendship. We pray good memories of Walt and your good friends offer some comfort at this difficult time.

Dear Sally and Family, You were our neighbors back in Battle Creek. I remember babysitting the two oldest boys for a bit and then off you were to the Mighty Mac.......we always spoke of you and your family each time we crossed the bridge. You were a young just beginning family. I read with interest Walt's many achievements and what he and your family did to improve the lives of others. All in all, a life well lived. God bless you all. Sally and Family,
Read about Walt in B C Enquirer. I was one of the five "Rae" kids who was growing up a few doors from your young family on Pleasantview in B.C. I think I babysat your two oldest boys. My family followed Walt's career from lower Michigan and were proud of all of you. Please accept my condolences on Walt's passing. God bless your grieving and Courage.

Sally and Family, I am deeply saddened by Walter's passing. He truly was a leader in so many fields. I was impressed with all that he accomplished in his life including his love for animals which is so important to me. His legacy is in the wonderful family he had and what he did to improve the lives of others....Bless you and may Walter find peace in Heaven. Your 1951 Classmate and Friend Shirley Judd Stevenson
