Not sure what to say?

Mr. Nupen was a favorite because of his enthusiasm for the subject. He had a wonderfully good natured way of bringing me out of a daydream and back to the subject of the day. His ability to make historical figures and events real inspired an interest in history that is still with me. Thank you sir. Steve Sempert Parkrose '65

"Mr. Nupen" was my U.S. History teacher at Albany Union High School in 1956-7. I believe he encouraged my classmate, Neil Reynolds, to ask me out. We have been married for 61 years as of this date. Many girls in that history class had a crush on Mr. Nupen.

M. Nupen was my U.S. History teacher. I really liked his class, even though history wasn't a big interest. The thing I remember most is learning I had two responsibilities as a U.S. citizen - jury duty and voting. I only missed voting once in all these years (a school bond, I think) and wish everyone in America had a teacher like him.

Mr. Nupen was an enthusiastic teacher. I looked forward to his classes at Parkrose. My condolences to his family and friends. Elizabeth McCallum PHS class of 70.

Mr. Nupen was one of the chaperones on a European tour of choirs from Parkrose High School in 1971. He was a favorite for his wit, charm, and persona. One of my memories: He changed the lyrics, unofficially, to one of the songs we sang in concert. Instead of "Leavin' on a Jet Plane," he sang, "Leavin' on a Freight Train," a nod to the many trains we boarded on the tour. That is classic Mr. Nupen.

Mr Nupen was my middle school history teacher at Columbia View in the Reynolds District in the mid-70s. He was a very nice man and a great history teacher. I´m glad to see that he had a long and happy life. God Bless

Mr Nupen was a teacher at Albany Union High School, I don't remember if he taught US history or world history. I remember him as being a good guy. I graduated in 1962.
