Not sure what to say?

I remember meeting “the other Butch” when I was very young, maybe 3 or 4. My uncle Wallace “Wally” Broadnax played basketball with Butch. The oldest of their siblings was Elmer “Butch” Broadnax, another of my uncles. I am sorry to hear of Butch P’s passing, and especially so young.B The Gary thing is so deep and Butch will always have a special place in its legacy. I attended an open house for my Butch’s grandson, who played basketball in HS. It brought back memories and I found myself...

In Memory of Butch Pendleton
I’m signing Butch guest book months after his passing because it was by accident that I learned about his death. I was reading a book on the history of Gary, IN and of course no book on Gary would be complete without mention the 1968 Roosevelt Panthers State Championship team which Butch was a member of. After reading the book I decided to Google his name and I was very sorry to find out that he had passed. So it is with deep respect that I...

Dear Pendleton Family:

I'd like to offer my prayers and deepest sympathy as you celebrate Butch's life. I met Butch when he was a sandy haired third grader at Daniel Hale Williams Elementary. We were also together at Pulaski Jr. High. Even as a young boy, Butch was gregarious, charming and always loved a challenge. We will miss him terribly because he left an indelible mark. I am thankful for his friendship and that of Boysie.
Thank you for sharing Butch with us.
God...

Walter Pendleton, May you rest in peace.
You will forever be in our hearts and minds,

To the Pendleton Family, we love you.

May God Keep you!

To the Pendleton family,

Life is a journey
of sweetness and sorrow,
Of yesterday's memories
and hopes for tomorrow,
Of pathways we choose
and detours we face
With patience and humor,
courage and grace,
Of joys that we have shared
with our loved ones
Who have touched us in ways
we will never forget
Like a river flowing out to sea
our souls find peace within eternity.

Dear Family,
The Holcomb Family, Lewis, Betty, Bobby and Mommy, send our love and condolences to all of you: Bev, Cheryl, Pat, Boysie, and Karen. Knowing all of you, along with Ma Bennie and Ma Versie helped to make our childhood fun! God be with you all.
Joanne and Daddy would share our condolences.

I was very sorry to hear about the passing of Butch. I have known him since grade school (our Dorie Miller days)through high school.
To the family you have my deepest sympathy.

The mention of Butch's name brought back so many wonderful memories. I will hold on to those. My prayers are with his family. You were so blessed to have been a part of his life.
