Walter A. "Skip", born March 3, 1944, beloved husband of Mary Lou Rees (nee Tibbs), loving father of Wendy (Tom) Collopy, Sherry Beth (Sean) Arbuckle, Sondra (Ron) Reardon and Anthony (Tracy) Rees. Cherished grandfather of Shawn Collopy, Thomas Collopy Jr., Jeffrey Schrage, Andrew Collopy, Maxwell Winter, Scott Schrage, Sam Winter, Kyle Rees, Jacob Rees and Ava Reardon and great-grandfather of four. Preceded in death by parents, Margaret and George W. Rees Sr. and a brother, George W. Rees Jr. Brother-in-law of Barb (George) Sontag, John (Carlene) Tibbs and Joyce Rees. Proudly served his country in the US Navy aboard the USS WASP Naval Aircraft carrier from 1961 to 1965. Passed away Tuesday, July 12, 2016. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Stephen Church, Donham & Eastern Aves., Saturday, July 16 at 10:00a.m. Friends may call at Geo. H. Rohde & Son Funeral Home, Linwood & Delta Ave., Mr. Lookout, Friday, from 4-7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the St. Jude's Children's Hospital. Mary Lou, Wendy,Sherry, Sondra and Tony: Your loss is our loss. Skip was our cousin and our friend. Through many years of competition on the baseball field we gained deeper respect for cousin Skip. He will be missed.
