Not sure what to say?

Alfred and family: So sorry to hear about Walter's passing; he was a great guy and always a pleasure to speak with. Sorry we will not be able to visit with you at the services. Gary & Kathy Rummel, Estero, FL

I knew Walt from the time I was a boy. He lived across the street from my father's drugstore. He lived on Janes Avenue for many years. He used to come over everyday to buy the newspaper. he always asked how I was doing in school and wished me luck. he was a true gentleman.

Years later, I ran acrosss him at a nursing home that I was the Director of and Walt was a visitor. He invited me to lunch a few times at the Germania Country Club. He always said to eat a light lunch so you...

Walt was loved by all of Marie's family. Betty Andre (St. Petersburg, FL)

Walter was a wonderful man. I new him as Ted's uncle and Terry's uncle-in-law. He came to my house a few times for Thanksgiving and was always a most gracious guest. We shared stories of our military services. I remember the story about the French soaps the most and will carry that laughter the rest of my life. He will be missed.

My deepest sympathy to Walt's family. He was a good man to my Aunt Marie. He was such a gentelman. He will be missed by all that knew him.

Sitting and talking with Uncle Walt this past summer at Caretel brought back such wonderful memories for Tom and stories I'd never heard before! We are sure Aunt Dell was waiting in the boat, with the motor gased up,bait bucket full, and the poles at the ready.Enjoy heaven where the big one is only a cast away! You deserve it.

Uncle Walt, Uncle Alf and Louie Hager - her namesake Louie Steckert

I did not know Uncle Walt really well, his Brother Alf is my true Uncle. But I was always aware of Uncle Walt growing up because he would give us a $1 every Christmas. Forty years later my children and I got to know him again just a little and he was still the same. Very alert, loving and happy. I think he is having a wonderful welcome into life eternal. And we will remember him always. We love you Uncle Walt. Deanna, Tom, Louie and Zachary (Steckert) Hager

Walt was a Kind and loving friend to all of my family.I was honored to have Walt walk me down the ailse on my wedding day in remenbrance of my father. We were fortunate to have Walt and Aunt Delma Mayotte as friends and family for all those years. Please accept our Heartfelt Sympathy

The opportunity to have met and known Mr. Rummel was a great honor. I have so many wonderful memories of times spent with my grandmother and Walt as a young boy and into early adulthood. I was always amazed and entertained by the stories he told of a life rich with fulfilling experiences. Mr. Rummel was a mentor and a friend, a generous soul whom I always admired and respected.

He will be remembered fondly every time the grill fires, every time the liverwurst is spread, every...
