Not sure what to say?

It was quite an honor to attend the burial ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery. It was absolutely as reverent as a TV documentary had shown: in the way the service people responded to the family, in their constant communication of the procedures which lay ahead, in the silence and disciplined motions of the pallbearers at the gravesite, in the three gun salute, in the folding of the flag, in giving the flag (which had draped the coffin) to Mrs. Schlegel, and in the care shown by the...

Mr. Schlegel will always be remembered as a man who lived a rich life. He had a wonderful, loving and caring wife who helped him build that wonderful life. He loved people and people loved him and then he loved them right back again. We looked forward to the visit when they came to town, he'd make a smile out of deep set frown. My Children did know so I need not tell, that Mr. Schlegel wasn't really their Grandpa though they loved him so well.
with great love and deep respect, Mary

I'm glad I got to know you. Thanks for the service to your country and to your family.

It was such a pleasure to meet Mr. Schlegel in July. I thank him and his family for allowing me to be part of their experience at the World War II Memorial. Not having my own granddad with whom to share the experience was tough, but Mr. Schlegel made it a very special day for me. Thank you so much. I look forward to seeing you again one day. Your service to our country will never be forgotten. Thank you again Schlegel family for opening your hearts to a group of people you did not know, and...

To find the best in others,
To leave the world a bit better,
Whether by a healthy child, a garden patch
Or a redeemed social condition,
To know even one life has breathed easier
Because you lived,
This is...

It was such an honor to meet Mr. Schlegel and his wonderful family at the War World II Memorial in July. We are so appreciative of the sacrifice he and his family made to preserve our Freedom. May God richly bless you and give you His special favor during this Christmas Season.

"Any man who may be asked in this century what he did to make his life worthwhile, I think he can respond with a great deal of pride and satisfaction...I served in the United States Navy." -John F. Kennedy

I'm very grateful for having had the opportunity to have known you. I will sorely miss you, and fondly remember you.
Love, Bill Frasure

I love you. You're the first love in my life to leave and I'll never forget you, Grandpa.
