Mike was a Very Kind, Thoughtful Encore Neighbor who became a Friend with whom we kept in touch. We will miss him!

My husband and I met Mike when he purchased a home in the beautiful "Encore" community. We both have a passion for plants. Hostas are one variety that we are both fond of. When he moved in he brought a collection of beautiful varieties. We had chats about the care of them. Always smiling, he was willing to share his knowledge and literature. My sincere condolences to Mikes family and friends. I met Mike in 1994 in Ellijay, Ga at a weekly meeting we both attended. We remained friends throughout the years. Mike´s compassion toward me and his ability to look beyond mine and others flaws made Mike a true cherished friend. He helped me in a dark time and that is something I will never forget. Mike and I reconnected in 1994 when I was working for a software company in East Bay San Francisco, CA. He was attending a trade show the firm I was working at sponsored. Mike was my friend, I will miss him. Our family of three sons and Mike and Jill´s family of two sons became best of friends about 45 years ago through Mike´s and my interest in running. We were both very competitive in anything we did. I should have told him when I visited a few days before he passed that, though I am older, he even had to get to Heaven first! Thoughts and prayers for this family. I knew Mike because I am also a member of Magnolia Garden Club. It was always a joy to see him each month, our male member! Fun for us, and brave of him!! Mike was a devoted member of our church, Trinity United Methodist, and very soon became a dear friend to me. He even ordered a very special toy truck for my grandson who attends church with me. His generosity knew no limits and his graciousness, no bounds. I will miss his sweet smile and gentle hugs each Sunday. I´m glad I got to know such a fine gentleman.
