Funeral for Walter Lendon Seal, 71, of Decatur will be Wednesday, March 9, 2011, at 11 a.m. at Shelton Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dr. J. Scotty Hogan and the Rev. James Chitwood officiating. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home. Interment will be in East Lawrence Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Seal, who died Saturday, March 5, 2011, at his residence, was born July 11, 1939, in Franklin County to the late Benjamin Earl and Annie Mossie Hargett Seal. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Edward Seal, Alpha Seal and Manson Seal; and three sisters, Beulah Gray, Ann Pearson and Gertrude Stephenson.

He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Joan Dolan Seal; three sons, Jeffery Seal (Kristi) of Cullman, Curt Seal (Kim) of Decatur and Chris Seal (Jaime) of Hartselle; one daughter, Lynette Thomas (Jimbo) of Decatur; four brothers, Jimmie Seal of Muscle Shoals, Crochen Seal of Colbert Heights, Billy Seal of Florence and Don Seal of Cherokee; two sisters, Mary Whitlock and Gladys Johnson, both of Russellville; and 10 grandchildren, Leyton Seal, Kyndall Seal, Laney Seal, Dawson Seal, Caroline Seal, Kristen Seal, Ashleigh Thomas, Charlie Thomas, Jay Seal and Bryson Seal.

Pallbearers will be Andy Richardson, Howard Sullivan, Glenn Sullivan, Leroy Henderson, James Makenson, Mark Hopkins, Brad King and Donald Greenhill.

Honorary pallbearers will be Billy Roy King, Noel King and Terry Duboise.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial donations be made to Gideons International, P.O. Box 5111, Decatur, AL 35602.

Carolyn and family, So sorry to hear about Lendon. Our family acquaintances goes back to when we moved here in 1983 and Westmeade and our children. We will never forget your friendship. Remember the time we caught up with each other at Panama City and neither families knew the other was going to be there. We will never forget Lendon.
