Dear Spencer Family, Walter was full of life and sparkle and was always great to his kids' friends. He talked to us as peers, raising us to a level of conversation filled with mutual respect. Time spent at your home in Connecticut was always warm and welcoming and somewhat enlightening. He was such an interesting guy, perhaps because he was so curious and interested by people and phenomenon. I am thinking of all of you and sending warm and loving thoughts your way.
