Deepest condolences to the Vanhook family. Mr. Van Always told me each and everyday that he wanted to be the best neighboor ever and he lived up to that everyday. He grew to be like a friend to me and my family. Everybody loved him down to my 2 year old grandaughter. He always wanted to have nice chats on his porch but sometimes it was alittle to hot outside. But either way I enjoyed that fact that I actually had a neighboor that I could talk to. You will always be missed.

Mr VanHook was a pleasure to meet. He loved civil rights history and I enjoyed my conversations with him so much. A kind spirit of a man. My deepest sympathy to Harriet, Jessica and all who loved him. May God Bless and keep you all.
love to you

Mom, Elmira, Uncle Clarence

Uncle Clarence was a remarkable man, well read, and a very good thinker; often called a "smart man" by those who knew him. He was seasoned and not afraid to follow his own mind. He was keenly aware of himself and stood tall in his beliefs. He will be missed and will always be loved. He was a special and dear Uncle. I will always remember him best through my mothers eyes, and my eyes as a child seeing him interact with his sister Blanche, my mother, and his brother, my Uncle Bennie. There...

My sympathy to Cousin Walter's family. May God help you through this sad time.

To Mr. Walter's family,I feel as though one of my family members have passed. I only knew Mr. VanHook for about two years, but "to know him was to love him". Such a fine gentlemen full of respect and a whole lot of wisdom. He also gave me a wonderful daughter-n-law, Jessica. I know your loss is great, but the memories and the power of Almighty God will help you. Prayers and love, Marilyn
