Walter J. Whiteside, 77, of 343 Monks Grove Church Road, died Friday, April 27, 2007, at his home. Born February 15, 1930, in Spartanburg County, SC, he was the son of the late Hicks Whiteside and Flossie Horton Sellers. He was the widower of Helen Isler Whiteside. Mr. Whiteside was a former employee of Flowers Bakery and Converse Mill and a member of Una First Free Will Baptist Church. Survivors include a son, Danny Whiteside, Sr. of Inman; three stepsons, Roger Henson of Spartanburg, Jimmy Henson of Woodruff, and Mike Henson of Roebuck; a step-daughter, Debbie Hendrix of Easley; fourteen grandchildren; nine step-grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by two daughters, Brenda Stepp and Frances Taylor; a son, Jimmy Whiteside; and a grandson, Danny Whiteside, Jr. Visitation will be 6-8:00 p.m., Sunday, April 29, 2007, at Floyd's Boiling Springs Chapel. Graveside services will be held at 12:00 noon Monday, April 30, 2007, at Mountain View Baptist Church Cemetery conducted by the Rev. Kenneth Cash and the Rev. Jason Gregg.
