Walter Joseph Zender

I was a high school student of Mr. Zender's in Eldora, Iowa, in the 1950's. He was a thought-provoking teacher, a bit intimidating, but really made me think and question the ideas we encountered in literature. He encouraged writing and, of course, theater and speech competitions in which I actively participated.
