I joined Walt on a few quality control conferences and had his assistance in coordinating projects for the summer interns I hired. Students received real world experience and solved a lot of problems. It was a win-win. We partnered on many significant Six Sigma projects during our consulting time together. Sympathy Card

Professor Hancock had dedicated his life to mentor his students around the world. We are so thankful to him and admire his wisdom. In the loving memory of a wonderful Professor. (Photo. Reunion with Walt and Charlene 2018, Ann Arbor, just before Richard headed JHU Graduate School)

Cliff Wang and Families (Taiwan), Ph.D. 1995

He was the inspiration for my continuing education beyond a masters degree and pursue an academic career for the next 36 years.
His wife Charlene provided a family in my early days as a lonely foreign student from India.

Wishing eternal peace for the departed soul.

Dr. Hancock was not only my mentor and advisor, he was the inspiration that convinced me to pursue doctorate under his guidance. Both he and Charlene were like my parents in US . Their love and concern for my welfare can not be equalled..
During my 50th reunion in Ann Arbor , Dr Hancock came over to the department just to see me in 2016. It was a dream come true for me.
We continued to receive their Christmas card with all the family news till 2018.
We ( Nisha and I) pray...
