Wanda Ann (Jasper) Rainwater, age 77, of Nancy, KY, passed away on March 21, 2021 at Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington, KY.


Wanda was born on November 29, 1943 in Cain Store, KY, to the late Mavis Franklin Jasper and Helen Faye (Carter) Jasper. She was of the Baptist faith and a member of Hopeful Baptist Church in Nancy, KY. She was a housewife and caretaker and deeply loved her family, friends, and the “Million dollar dog”, Maximus.


Along with her parents he was preceded in death by her husband, Dale Rainwater, whom she married on June 22, 1963, in Bronston, KY and he preceded her on November 22, 2017; her maternal grandparents, John T. and Gertie Carter, and her paternal grandparents, Charles and Mary Ann Jasper.


She is survived by one son, Jeff Rainwater (and Karen Hudson Dockery) of Somerset; one daughter, Christy Ann Rainwater (and Bobby Bray) of Nancy; sister, Brenda Galioto (and Fedele Galioto) of Bradenton, FL; one niece, Stefanie Galioto of Bradenton, FL; cousins, friends, and neighbors; and a special grand-dog, Diesel.


Visitation will be on Thursday, March 25, 2021 from 11:00am until 1:00pm at Lake Cumberland Funeral Home.


Her funeral service will follow on Thursday at 1:00pm at the Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. Jason Shanks officiating. Burial will be at New Hope Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Larry Sears, Garry Sears, Billy Coner, David Weddle, Brian Harris and Jamie Cowan.  Honorary pallbearers will be Jeff Rainwater, Bobby Bray and James Grider.


In lieu of flowers, the family requests expressions of sympathy be made to the New Hope Church Cemetery Fund or to Hopeful Baptist Church.
