Wanda Lee Chaffin

Wanda Lee Chaffin, 85, of Ottawa, formerly of Park Forest, IL died Sunday morning, December 2, 2012 at Pleasant View. Visitation for family and friends will be from 1 to 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 5, at the Mueller Funeral Home in Ottawa. Funeral services will follow at 3 p.m. with the Rev. Peter Ward, Chaplain of Pleasant View, officiating. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 6, at Skyline Memorial Park in Monee.

Wanda was born on September 14, 1927 in Harrisburg, to Walter and Ethyl (York) Gass. She was a graduate of Evansville (Indiana) High School. She married Charles Edward Chaffin on August 4, 1946. He died on December 18, 2004.

She is survived by a son, Robert (Susan) Chaffin, of Ottawa a daughter, Lora Lee Greinke, of Ottawa, 5 grandchildren; Jennifer (Tom) Connolly, Mary Chaffin, Katie Chaffin, Hollie (Derek) Pequette and Lindsay (Josh) Williams, 5 great-grandchildren, a sister Ursa Hart of, Tennessee and a brother, Paul (Donice) Gass, of Indiana.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, 2 sisters Lois Bruce and Mary Jones and a brother Robert Gass.
